Shellfish, barnacles and rust
150 years of Nature taking her toll on Whiteford Lighthouse. Dating back to the 1860s the tower is 44 feet (13 m) high and is the only wave-swept cast-iron tower of this size in Britain. The lighthouse was discontinued in 1920 although it did become operational again for a while in the 1980s.
