A purple patch near Reedham
Well, mauve really. The crop is Phacelia tanecetifolia, a very quick growing annual green manure, particularly good at smothering weeds and has an extensive root system which improves soil structure. Phacelia is an excellent flower for attracting honeybees and hover flies.
