Groombridge Junction
Groombridge Junction
A view from the footbridge which carries a public footpath from Groombridge to Harrison's Rocks. In the centre of the image is the sole passing loop on the 5 mile long Spa Valley Railway. Beyond the road bridge in the distance is Groombridge station.

The track in the lower left is the start of the Ashurst Spur which used to carry trains towards Oxted and East Grinstead. For many years, the SVR used a stub of this to store rolling stock but most of the spur has now been lifted and little remains. The middle lower track is the beginning of a siding which runs alongside the line to Eridge (lower right) and is also used for storing rolling stock, much of which is in a poor state.

For a southbound view from the same spot, please see TQ5336 : Groombridge Junction.
