Floral display, Formal Garden, Cragside
Floral display in the Formal Garden on the Cragside Estate, with the clock tower in the background.

The display is changed each year. An adjacent board described the 2019 theme: "Carpet bedding - This year's design is a repeating geometric pattern for the theme of engineering beauty. The light coloured succulents are Echeveria. The yellowish plants are Pyrethrum. The green plants are Herniaria. The black plants are Ophiopogon."

The whole estate, now owned by the National Trust, is grade I listed - see LinkExternal link. The clock tower, which was built in 1864, is grade II* listed - see LinkExternal link.
