Maiden pink
Maiden pink (Dianthus deltoides) is one of the special plants of Holyrood Park LinkExternal link. Confined to the park, it is at risk of local extinction, and is carefully monitored each year by the Historic Environment Scotland rangers. This is a late flower in early October. Most of the flowers are past and have already set seed.
