"[T]here are plenty of typically Perp panelling motifs ... especially in the broad five-light E window, and so the church seems to have been designed at the moment of transition from Dec to Perp" (Nikolaus Pevsner). The day had begun brightly, but rainclouds were rolling in early in the afternoon.
