Oxford Canal: Possible site of former Bridge Number 185
Oxford Canal: Possible site of former Bridge Number 185
Bridge Number 185 on the Oxford Canal seems to have been comparatively short-lived, as it is not shown on the large scale Ordnance Survey map of 1882, while the bridges either side of it, Numbers 184 and 186, are shown with their numbers.

This constriction, near Nellbridge House, with what appears to be the abutment of a bridge on the right, is the only obvious location for it between the others. On the left any old abutment has been removed for the new sheet metal piled edge.
