This is a Georgian townhouse built in the mid 18th century. It stands in the Main Street Cockermouth. It is now a museum in the care of the National Trust and is open to the public from March to October each year. It also has a well tended garden at the back. William Wordsworth, the English poet, was born here in 1770. It was the childhood home of William and his sister Dorothy.
