Devon Railway Centre - diesel locomotives
Devon Railway Centre - diesel locomotives
A pair of narrow gauge diesel locomotives. The blue engine is the only surviving Motor Rail H class engine. It is 3' gauge and was built in 1969 for the British Aluminium Company at Fort William. It was only used until 1972 and then stored until coming to Bickleigh after 29 years in store, latterly in the open air. The red locomotive is a Planet, works No. 2201 of 1939 and used at Berrylands Sewage Works, Surrey. This is of 2' gauge and is on loan to the Railway Centre.
