NY8355 : WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

taken 5 years ago, near to Allendale Town, Northumberland, England

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
That's what a lot of people in the village would like to know.

Exemplary punctuation, but then this was Allendale's First School - see NY8355 : Twenty years of schoolin' and they put you on the day shift - before Northumberland County Council's Education Department engineered its demise and the collapse of three-tier education in this part of the county in 2012. The school moved to the site of the former NY8456 : Allendale Middle School (photographed by Les Hull) and became a primary school, taking in children from 3 to 11 LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link .

The site has remained vacant for over 6 years now. It is apparently being sold off by the NCC, but I understand that there have been problems relating to boundaries and utilities. No-one, apart from the local County Councillor and the prospective purchaser, knows the answer to the question posed in the window. Presumably, it will be converted into either dwelling(s) or commercial use, but the scope for significant modification to the structure will be limited, as it is Grade II listed LinkExternal link .
