Bernera Barracks, Glenelg.
Built between 1715 and 1723 to subdue the local population after the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. The barracks are of similar construction to Ruthven Barracks near Kingussie.Unfortunately they have been allowed to fall into a dangerous state of disrepair and are fenced off to protect the public from falling masonry.
