Towpath along the Market Harborough Arm of the Grand Union Canal
The Market Harborough Arm of the Grand Union Canal was completed in 1809, it is lock free for its entire length of 5.4 miles. It runs from the Foxton Locks to Union Wharf in Market Harborough.
The original idea was to continue the arm from Market Harborough to Northampton, this never happened due to a lack of funds.
National Cycle Network Route 6 follows the towpath for the entire length.
