Lodge and gates, former Good Shepherd Convent, Cork

A development site, after the disused convent buildings were largely gutted by fire some years ago. A frequent fate for old buildings on sites with redevelopment potential.
The lodge has an unusual feature on all its visible window openings: the brickwork of the outer vertical corners is set back for much of the height. This appears to be intended to increase the horizontal view angle visible from the inside.
