SO6658 : The old church, Edvin Loach

The old church, Edvin Loach
The old church, Edvin Loach
Abandoned for the new building next door (hidden behind the yew) in 1860. This was a small church built after an earlier parish was divided. In common with much of the uplands on the Clee Hills and Bromyard area the parish became depopulated and scattered and there is no village here now. The churches are built on a hilltop, imagine some of the Christmas services here - I expect they may have looked like a card, but would have been brutal if an easterly was blowing.
