The nearer elements are the original mill building dating from c.1740. The feed to the waterwheel can be seen behind the wooden railings.
Rufford Abbey Mill

According to the details of the Historic England listing for Rufford Abbey Park, it was built in 1750 by the eighth Baronet Savile as a three-storey corn mill with a large decorative cupola, in 1790 the Mill became a two-storey classical building. Captain Henry Savile added east and west wings when it was converted into a saw mill in 1860.
The Listing description for the mill itself gives the initial date as c.1740, and also an 18th century origin for parts of the west wing, a date consistent with the architecture. The three elements of the mill surrounding a courtyard are Listed Grade II as a single group.
