Valley of River Etherow
Valley of River Etherow
The River Etherow flowing in its valley about 1.5 km. below Woodhead Reservoir. It's also below the A628, Woodhead Pass road, a distant fragment of which can be seen at the top left-hand corner of the image above a retaining wall. The stonework of the portal of the 1950's Woodhead Tunnel can be seen too.
