Millstones in the Woods at Froggatt Edge, Derbyshire
Millstones in the Woods at Froggatt Edge, Derbyshire
Moss covered stones in the damp winter woodland at Froggatt, in the Derbyshire Peak District. The rounded stone with the hole in the middle is an abandoned millstone, dating no doubt from the time when millstones were quarried from the gritstone edges above. Due to their abundance, the millstone is the symbol of the Peak District National Park.
