Survey Rig off Thorntonloch Beach
This survey rig was towed into position early yesterday morning. Offshore surveys have begun as two wind farms are proposed to be built in the Firth of Forth. Here the rig is lit up in sunshine on the first day of 2020. Plenty of people and dogs were enjoying a New Year’s Day walk along this beautiful, clean, flat, sandy beach. The sea was calm and little waves gently rolled in on this peaceful scene. At night the rig is lit up with lots of white lights and a few red ones too, making it look quite like a huge Christmas tree out at sea !
