The car park is at the western end of the section of the Salt Line between here and Lawton Heath. West of here the old formation no longer exists, being now part of a golf course.
The Salt Line trail and Borrowpit Meadows :: SJ7857

A section of the former North Staffordshire railway (Sandbach branch) between Rode Heath and Hassall Green, converted to leisure use as a cycleway, bridlepath and footpath, part of National Cycle Route 5. It was used as a freight railway until 1971, serving salt mines around Rode Heath as well as through freight, but had not seen passenger services since 1930.

Alongside the trail is Borrowpit Meadows, a former quarry now a 16ha nature reserve.
