East, west-churches are best

Everyone knows there are lots of churches in the City of London. Those who paid attention at school may recall the total was approaching a hundred in the Middle Ages. Most were destroyed in the Great Fire and 34 were not rebuilt. Another 23 have disappeared over the centuries but that still leaves a lot. The Friends of City Churches arranged a Saturday walk around those still left. It was divided into two halves: those west of St Mary Abchurch, and those east. Two fascinating tours lead by expert guides- a great time was had by all!
