Craigievar Castle
Craigievar Castle
Craigievar was completed around 1626 and was built to be a defendable fortress. The castle saw a few skirmishes but remained unbreached. A very elderly gentleman explained to me that the external walls take the pink colour from gallons of oxblood which were mixed with other compounds to cover up the poor building material beneath.
