In place at from November 22nd 2018 until January 6th 2019, Walking with The Snowman is the first public sculpture trail inspired by the Raymond Briggs’ classic Christmas story “The Snowman™”. The trail consists of twelve giant snowman sculptures situated across Salford Quays and MediaCityUK to celebrate 40th anniversary of the original publication of the book.
Themed around the song The Twelve Days of Christmas, each sculpture is designed and decorated by one of twelve professional artists, all of whom painted a Bee for this year’s Bee in the City event Link . At the end of the event, they will be auctioned with proceeds going to the Children in Need charity. As well as the large snowmen, there are also a number of smaller snowmen decorated by local schools and community groups.
