Road over colliery waste
Road over colliery waste
Much of the land in this area north of Kelloe Beck is believed to be covered with landscaped colliery waste - it certainly has that appearance. The need for the lined drainage channel to the left of the road must be due to the fragility of the surface composed as it is from finely divided material.
