Manchester, Great Ancoats Street
Part of the inner ring road (A665). The large black glass-fronted building used to be the printing works for the northern editions of the Daily Express. It one of three buildings (the others were in London and Glasgow) commissioned in the 1930s for the Daily Express. The London building opened in 1931, followed by the Glasgow building in 1937 and the Manchester building in 1939. All three buildings are very similar in design, this one is a Grade II* listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1218285 LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ).
