Locomotive K1 No. 2005 at Quorn & Woodhouse Station
On the preserved Great Central Railway and photographed while I was in the queue for my £28 ticket for the winter gala. The locomotive is a 2-6-0 built in 1949 to a design by Arthur Peppercorn that built on earlier work by Sir Nigel Gresley and Edward Thompson. This locomotive is the sole survivor of its class of 70 locomotives and appeared courtesy of the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group.
