Pink Lane is a little old street on the west side of Newcastle's city centre. This building is an early 20th century rebuild of an old pub called the North British. The 21st century conversion to the present pub also added the adjacent shop to the premises. Fortunately, the Edwardian fronts to both buildings have been preserved.
