River Cuckmere "cut off point" on the old river course
This photo shows an embankment or levee which marks a "cut off point" on the lower part of the old River Cuckmere. Due to human intervention, the area to the right is as far as the old course of the river, with its famous meanders, now flows. There is a path on top of the foreground causeway which leads to the other "cut off point" on this lower section of the river. The two people, in the middle distance, are walking on top of an embankment close to the man-made or straightened river course.
