The pool in Centenary Square, Birmingham
Looking north-east from near Symphony Hall towards the Grade 1 listed Hall of Memory. On the left is Baskerville House. On the right is the Town Hall. All the other buildings have appeared during the ongoing city regeneration project.
Redevelopment of Centenary Square includes a shallow "reflective pool" with fountains, which can be drained when the area is used for special Christmas attractions. The 43 very tall white lighting columns are a distraction. Did they need to be so tall? Were so many necessary? Good photography of surrounding buildings is seriously impeded.
