Across the road from Churcher's College it was a lunchtime haunt of many a master, but naturally not the boys!
The pubs of Petersfield, past and present

In centuries past a quarter of the cereal grown in the area was used for making beer. It was, until comparatively recently, "the only drink for the multitude" as The Petersfield Area Historical Society stated in its 1977 survey of the hostelries of Petersfield. Sadly since then the number of what I call Proper pubs has seriously dwindled. Coffee shops on the other hand have multiplied expediently. But whoever heard of anyone going on a coffee crawl. So come with me and let's find the pubs of Peef....
