Just about visible in SJ7407 : Northeast end of Church Street, Shifnal if you know where to look, this pre-Worboys sign at the top of Church Street is one of two that I am aware of in the town. The other lies a couple of hundred yards away at SJ7407 : Pre-Worboys sign on Bradford Street
Update August 2020 - this sign has now vanished from the front of the building, which is a pity. Talking to the resident of no 2a, above whose door it was located, neither he nor his landlord know of its disappearance, so we must assume it's been stolen. That's another piece of Shifnal's heritage gone.

Pre-Worboys road signs
These are known as pre-Worboys signs because in 1965 new signs were introduced acting on the recommendations of the Worboys Committee which had been tasked with reviewing the UK's road signage. The new designs have mostly remained in current use with only minor changes.
