The partly drained Llyn Cwm y Foel reservoir
Located high above the Croesor Valley, the reservoir was constructed in the first decade of the 20th Century to provide a head of water to power the Croesor Hydro Electric Works and nearby quarries. With the closure of the quarries and the hydro electric works the reservoir became redundant and for reasons of safety the lake was partially drained.
