Bottom end of the Bigg Market
Bottom end of the Bigg Market
One of the most distinctive areas in Newcastle city centre, which dates back to the middle ages. No buildings earlier than the 18th century survive however. The railings in the centre are around the underground gents toilet. This Victorian toilet opened in 1898 and closed in 2012. It has been converted into a wine bar and re-opened in February 2020, called W C appropriately.
