The Iron Duke in Edinburgh
The bronze statue of the 1st Duke of Wellington was unveiled in 1852 (37 years after the battle of Waterloo). The statue stands in a prominent position in front of Register House at the Eastern End of Princes Street at the junction of the North Bridge. The Duke is mounted on his favourite horse Copenhagen.
