Opened 1778, after becoming unusable by the 1960's it was restored in 1974.

The bridge has been demolished after the canal was drained to repair lock 12 SJ9453 : Drained Caldon Canal, Bridge No.36 and cracks were discovered, maybe to the water pressure being removed.
