The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is the seat of the Roman-Catholic archdiocese of Liverpool, which also includes the Isle of Man. The dioceses of Salford, Leeds, Hallam, Middlesbrough, Hexham & Newcastle and Lancaster are suffragan to Liverpool. The building was designed by Frederick Gibberd and consecrated in 1967.
