The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is the seat of the Roman-Catholic archdiocese of Liverpool, which also includes the Isle of Man. The dioceses of Salford, Leeds, Hallam, Middlesbrough, Hexham & Newcastle and Lancaster are suffragan to Liverpool. The building was designed by Frederick Gibberd and consecrated in 1967. It has a circular main cavity Link topped by a central lantern Link , with a short bell tower Link in front of the main entrance with four bells in it. Seen here is the main frontage across Mount Pleasant.
