Kirby Cross: Railway line towards Walton-on-the-Naze
Kirby Cross: Railway line towards Walton-on-the-Naze
This railway was opened in 1866 forming the Great Eastern Railway's line from Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze. This is a view looking east from the public footpath crossing immediately to the east of Kirby Cross station, and shows the start/finish of the passing loop through the station. Care was taken, prior to taking the photograph, to ensure that no trains were approaching in either direction.
