Outlook from The Old Parlour, Newnham Grange
One of the most pleasant rooms in Darwin College. Many a glass of wine/port and sherry were tippled here on formal dining nights of Darwin College. A view to the river and punters. A return visit to the room in July 2024 has shown that the interior of the room has barely changed but new vegetation virtually obscures the view to the river. Darwin College
Darwin College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge.
Founded on 28 July 1964, Darwin was Cambridge University's first graduate-only college, and also the first to admit both men and women. The college is named after one of the university's most famous families, that of Charles Darwin. The Darwin family previously owned some of the land, Newnham Grange, on which the college now sits.
