Harwich: The Ha'penny Pier
Harwich: The Ha'penny Pier
The Pier was built in 1853 as Corporation Pier. It extended out into the river with the section in the photograph as a north-easterly arm. However in 1927 the section of the main pier beyond the arm was destroyed in a fire, and never rebuilt, leaving the current L-shaped arrangement.

The cranes in Felixstowe docks are beyond.
