NC2973 : Cape Wrath: Stack Clò Kearvaig [sic]

taken 6 years ago, near to Kearvaig, Highland, Scotland

Cape Wrath: Stack Clò Kearvaig [sic]
Cape Wrath: Stack Clò Kearvaig [sic]
This rather distinctive offshore rock is nicknamed the cathedral, for the obvious reason of its shape. It is named Stack Clò Kearvaig on the Ordnance Survey's maps. However, the other sea stacks in the area have the word 'Stac' rather than 'Stack', which seems more consistent with the Gaelic nomenclature used in the northwest of Scotland.

We are viewing it from the Cape Wrath track - see NC2871 : Cape Wrath: view towards Stack Clò Kearvaig for a wider view.
