Ruins of Almsford Grange (3)
Prior to its destruction this was a nursing home, which unfortunately went out of business. Squatters moved in and caused the fire that led to the sad demise of this property that once stood at the top of Almsford Bank - a prominent landmark for those approaching Harrogate from the south.
Before it became a nursing home the property was divided into two flats. My grandmother lived on the top floor from 1956 - 1980.
A couple whose surname was Jerome lived on the ground floor until 1980, and were there before my grandmother's arrival in 1956.
All evidence of the house has now gone, replaced by housing of the Stone Rings Estate.
