Bridge over old Avenue Branch, Blyth & Tyne Railway, Holywell
A public bridleway crosses this stone bridge under which passes the old Avenue Branch of the Blyth & Tyne Railway. This branch line was opened in 1860, and at the time of the first Ordnance Survey Six-Inch map of the area of 1865 the track, which crossed over the bridge, linked the various settlements within Holywell Dene, including Silver Hill, with nearby Holywell village. The old Avenue Branch is now used for recreational purposes and is designated as a 'traffic-free cycle route'.
