SK2999 : Wortley Top Forge - waterwheel

Wortley Top Forge - waterwheel
Wortley Top Forge - waterwheel
One of the waterwheels operating a belly helve hammer. This is a former railway axle forge that closed in 1908 and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. I must confess to being more interested in the steam engine collection here but I do have an appreciation of water power and the metallurgical trades too.
