Bluebells and bracken 2
A closer view of the fine flush of bluebells in bloom on the south-facing hillside. This is not an obvious site for bluebells, but the woodland they are normally associated with is substituted by the seasonal cover of the bracken, which is just starting to push its sinister, curled fronds through the litter of last year's crop. It is always a close race, and the bluebells will be invisible before the flowers have faded completely.
