Old Stone Gatepost near South Wellfield
This old stone gatepost stands close to the public footpath sign shown at Link and at the junction of two public footpaths. When the first Ordnance Survey Six-Inch map of the area was published in 1865 this area formed part of Earsdon Grange Farm, with the footpath, indicated by the sign at Link then linking the farm with Earsdon village where there were two inns, the Red Lion and the Cannon, St. Alban's Church, a Methodist Chapel and a Smithy.
