taken 7 years ago, near to Liberton, Edinburgh, Scotland

Dr Guthrie's Industrial School for boys
Dr Guthrie's Industrial School for boys
Eastern wing of Guthrie Court, Lasswade Road, Edinburgh originally built in 1885 as an Industrial Ragged School on Dr Guthrie's model.

Used as a residential care home (2005-2016). In Spring 2017 it was refurbished and converted into flats. The Guthrie care home still operates from newer buildings on the western part of the site (hidden from Lasswade Road). The concealed garden courtyard has been retained. This image taken prior to the building conversion work - the lawns now form a residents' car park.

Architect A G Sidney Mitchell designed it in a parsonage style using pink rock faced sandstone.
