Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve: pond
Unlike other nearby nature reserves, this one being on raised landfill is mostly 'dry' with land animals, songbirds and trees being the main attractions. But there is this one pond that attracts frogs and newts.
Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve

A ten hectare reserve formed in the 1990s on reclaimed industrial land between the Leeds-Skipton railway line and the river Aire. The reserve, with its mixture of planted and naturally seeded trees, ponds and wildflower meadows, is managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and open to the public on a permissive basis.
