Heavy glacially deposited clay north of the Middle Tollymore Road
Glacially bourne deposits of clays were laid down in the lowlands between the Slieve Croob Range and the Mournes some 13,000 years ago and moulded into drumlins. These deposits have weathered to form heavy clayey soils.
