Commemorative stone, Newcastle Civic Centre
This large block commemorates the beginning of the construction of the large civic centre building. According to the text on the stone it was laid on the 30th of November 1960. The smaller plaque to the left commemorates the end of the 800th year of Newcastle's mayoralty in February 2017. The plaques can be seen in more context in NZ2464 : Newcastle Civic Centre refurbished.
