Former Railway Cutting on the Outwood Trail
Former Railway Cutting on the Outwood Trail
The disused London Midland & Scottish railway line from Radcliffe Bridge to Clifton, shown on historical maps, is now a bridleway, part of the Outwood Trail, Irwell Sculpture trail and national cycleway. This section of wall, which is near the former Outwood Colliery, looks like the remains of a bridge. The colliery closed in 1931 whilst the railway line continued in use until its closure in 1966; the track was lifted shortly after that date.
