The National Trust very kindly agreed to allow me and a colleague into the moat area to view the remains of Robey undertype steam engines and this small gas engine by the Campbell Gas Engine Company of Halifax. This had apparently powered a lift and searchlights. As can be seen, it was in a protective plastic tent but in poor condition. I believe that this area is now in such a poor condition it is not regarded as safe to visit.
